Bruce Taterka: I teach AP Environmental Science, IB Environmental Systems; Societies, and IB Theory of Knowledge at Mendham High School in Mendham, NJ. My approach to teaching about the environment and public policy is to live it. In 2009 I went to Ecuador on an Earthwatch Fellowship to study trophic relationships in the Andean cloud forest. In 2010 I worked aboard the NOAA ship Oregon II in the Gulf of Mexico, studying marine ecosystems during the BP oil spill. In 2011-2011 I was a U.S. Department of Education Teaching Ambassador Fellow, working on federal and state education policy in Trenton and Washington, D.C. I've hiked, kayaked, canoed and rafted all over North and South America.
